Lately, I have been sitting on the scripture, Acts 20:24, which reads:
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”
This has been challenging me to really get a grasp on my outlook on life and on each day. To wake up every day and say, “Today is not about ME, I have been paid for by Jesus and I will live today for Him!” Our lives, how we live each day out, is one of the main ways we end up sharing the Good News of Jesus with the world.
2 Corinthians 4:7 says “We have this treasure (God’s power) in jars of clay (referring to us, frail and fail-able) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Gals, even though we are weak and have things pressing us to our limits every day, we have priceless content within us – the power of God!
I have been challenged to look at each day as an opportunity to be consistent, to be developed, to live out what I have learned, to practice the word – day in and day out.
It doesn’t matter if we find ourselves at home changing diapers, working full time, in school, or wherever we each are in life; we all need to be encouraged to live like we believe the Gospel, to know who we are in Christ, and remember that today is not about US.
It’s about living a life in response, in thankfulness, to the price God paid for each one of us.
