You are already beautiful.
Your beauty doesn’t come from cool up-dos or pretty nails (as fun as those things are ). You are beautiful because your Creator made you beautiful.
Every day, as we grow in our walk with God and our relationship with Christ, we become more beautiful. The journey to becoming beautiful never ends; it’s a continual shaping and growing.
As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 MSG
We are called to live holy lives, to allow God to shape our lives to be the godly daughters, wives, and mothers we are called be. But in all this growing and shaping, we mustn’t lose sight of what has already taken place in our lives, and not minimize the magnitude of what Christ has already done.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17
When we made Jesus the Lord of our life, we became a new creation. Complete and whole in Him! There is nothing we can do that will make us more righteous.
When we base our beauty on what Christ has already done, it is no longer even about us, it’s about Him. When we get to the place where we can say, “I am beautiful because He is beautiful,” all misgivings and self-doubt go out the window. You and I are no longer even in the equation. We are the image of Christ here on earth, and our beauty is simply a reflection of His beauty.
And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like Him. – 2 Cor 3:18 MSG
How our lives would be changed if we could just get a hold of this truth! What would happen if we would take the attitude of submitting ourselves to Him wholly and completely –living a life of beauty thru Him? The more we submit to Him, the more we become like Him! It would no longer be about our plans or desires. Our focus would be entirely on Him and His perfect will for our lives. A life submitted to the Father is a life of peace and hope and fulfillment. It is a life of beauty.
On those days when you look in the mirror and question your beauty (believe me we all have them) I challenge you to instead go to the Word and discover where your true beauty lies. What does the Word say about you? How does your heavenly Father think about you?
As He is, so are we in this world. – 1 John 4:17
This is talking about Jesus… This is how God looks at you! He sees you as He sees Jesus! You are a daughter of the King! You are beautifully and wonderfully made. The plan God has for you is a blessed and glorious plan. There is nothing anyone can say or do that will change this fact. You are beautiful because He is beautiful!
