DIY: Quote Scarf
I love scarves. I have too many to count actually. This accessory is a fun and simply item that can dress up any outfit.
I also love quotes, song lyrics and writing. What if there was a way to incorporate the two?
I saw this project on Pinterest a while ago but I recently tried it on my own. I chose a song that is dear to my heart for the quote to feature.
“It is well with my Soul” is the song that is handwritten on my new scarf. “When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul…”
What you need:
- Blank scarf
- Black paint pen
Any song lyrics or quote will do. Once you decide what you want to write, then it is time to start crafting.
Be sure to have some sort of notebook or cardboard underneath the scarf since the paint pen will bleed through.
I chose to write in a very cursive-inspired font. The sides of the words vary and the writing is very imperfect. That is what I like about it. It gives it character as the words flow about the scarf.
I also splattered the paint pen over the words. The splatter effect gives a very genuine look.
Hang your scarf to dry.
Then, enjoy your new accessory!
About Spree Hilliard:
I am a Southern girl at heart. Born and raised most of my life in the sweet state of Arkansas, I like to think of myself as a modern day Southern belle. I was raised right. I was taught to love Jesus, love others and to treat others as I want to be treated. I prefer sweet tea to wine and can quote ‘Steel Magnolias’ at the drop of a hat. At my day job, I’m a writer for a Lake Media— I take photos, edit videos, and manage a website and social media and more. When I’m not working, I have several other passions. I enjoy everything from painting, crafting, cooking, party planning, working out, spending time with friends and family, volunteering and more. Visit Spree’s blog: Southern Ambitions Designs.
